WHO: Women's International League for Peace & Freedom (Peninsula Chapter), the Peninsula Raging Grannies, and the Bay Area Coalition for Election Reform
WHEN: Wednesday January 5, 2005 at 12:00 noon
WHERE: Lytton Plaza, University Ave. & Emerson St. in Palo Alto
WHY: On January 6th, Congress will convene to ratify the Electoral College votes in the 2004 Presidential Election. Congressman John Conyers (D-Michigan) and other representatives will object to the counting of the Ohio electors. We are asking our Congresswoman, Anna Eshoo, to join in contesting this vote.
Fair Elections died on Nov. 2, 2004.
She died of multiple causes:
1. Results did not match exit polls
2. Corporate control of machines & secret vote counting
3. Machines & software open to tampering
4. Disenfranchisement and racism
5. Partisanship
A wake will be held in Lytton Plaza, University Ave. & Emerson St. in Palo Alto, Wednesday January 5, 2005 at 12:00 noon. The causes of death will be announced and a brief eulogy will be offered, followed by a procession to Congresswoman Anna Eshoo's office on 698 Emerson, where flowers will be laid on the coffin. Public wailing will be led by the Raging Grannies.
